Water Supply Disruptions Affect Parts of County Wexford Following Burst Watermains

Uisce Éireann crews are working to restore water supplies to homes and businesses across parts of County Wexford following two separate burst watermains.

A major burst in the Gorey area is affecting customers in Ballycanew, Killenagh, Poulshone, Kilmuckridge, Coolook and surrounding areas.

Repair works are continuing, with Uisce Éireann expecting supplies to begin returning once repairs are completed at around 5pm today.

A separate burst watermain is also impacting customers in Roxborough, Mulgannon and surrounding areas of Wexford Town. Repairs there are expected to be completed by approximately 2pm.

Uisce Éireann says it typically takes between two and three hours after repairs are finished for water supplies to fully return, although customers at the end of the network or on higher ground may experience longer delays while the system recharges.

Padraig Lyng of Uisce Éireann thanked customers for their patience during the unplanned outages.

"We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage and we thank customers for their support while our works continue."

Traffic management measures are in place at both repair locations to protect crews and road users, and motorists are advised to follow all temporary signage.

Uisce Éireann is encouraging customers to check for the latest updates through its website, customer care helpline and free text alert service, which provides real-time information on local water supply issues.
