Uisce Éireann is working to restore normal water supply to homes and businesses across Gorey following operational issues at the Creagh Water Treatment Plant, which have resulted in low pressure and intermittent supply interruptions for some customers.
Engineers have been working to reconfigure the network in order to reduce the impact of the disruption. While many customers are seeing improvements, those in higher areas or at the end of the network may continue to experience reduced pressure as the system gradually recharges.
Uisce Éireann says that once repair works are completed, it typically takes three to four hours for normal supply to be fully restored across all affected areas.
Alternative Water Supplies in Place
To support affected communities, alternative water supplies have been made available at several locations, including:
- Clonattin GAA Club
- Hazelwood
- Ashwood Grove
- Carnew Road School
- Ramstown
- Creagh Wood
- Tesco Car Park, Gorey
Customers are advised to bring their own containers when collecting water from tankers and to boil water before consumption as a precautionary measure.
A Uisce Éireann spokesperson confirmed that crews are continuing to work on restoring full service as quickly as possible.
Customers can use the reference number WEX00113536 to access the latest updates on the incident.
Vulnerable customers registered with Uisce Éireann will receive direct communication during planned or unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
Residents can also check supply updates via the Uisce Éireann website, customer care helpline on 1800 278 278, or through its @IWCare social media channel. A free text alert service is also available by registering an Eircode and mobile number.
