Ireland is turning purple today for the sixth annual Go Purple Day — a nationwide campaign led by An Garda Síochána to raise awareness of domestic abuse and the support services available to victims.
The initiative was launched six years ago by A community Garda after recognising the impact Covid-19 restrictions were having on people living in fear at home.
Go Purple Day highlights that anyone experiencing domestic abuse can still seek help, with support available from Gardaí and domestic violence services across the country.
