Charities and community organisations across County Wexford are being encouraged to apply for grants of up to €12,000 under a new €100,000 funding programme aimed at helping people from disadvantaged backgrounds pursue careers in the creative industries.
Amazon has announced the return of its Regional Creatives Fund Ireland, with applications now open to eligible organisations in Wexford working to break down barriers to careers in music, theatre, film, television, radio, podcasting, fashion and other creative sectors.
The €100,000 national fund is aimed at helping people from underserved communities develop the skills, confidence and experience needed to build careers in industries that can often be difficult to access.
The funding could provide a welcome boost for eligible charities involved in creative training and development across Wexford town, Gorey, Enniscorthy, New Ross and surrounding communities.
Organisations running established programmes in music production, theatre, filmmaking, digital media, journalism, radio, podcasting or other creative disciplines are being invited to apply.
The initiative is particularly focused on organisations helping people who face financial, social or other structural barriers to entering the creative workforce.
Successful applicants can receive grants of up to €12,000 to expand or sustain programmes that are already delivering results.
Funding could support initiatives providing young people and adults with practical experience in areas such as sound engineering, stage management, broadcasting, animation, photography, creative writing and digital design.
Who can apply?
To qualify, organisations must:
-
Be registered with Ireland's Charities Regulator.
-
Have an annual income of less than €5 million.
-
Already operate a programme providing training, skills development or employment preparation in the creative industries.
-
Demonstrate how their work supports people facing barriers to creative career opportunities.
-
Show how the funding would strengthen or sustain an existing programme.
The scheme is not intended for entirely new projects. Applicants must provide evidence that their programme is already operating and making a positive difference.
Ali Dunn, Country Manager for Amazon in Ireland, said the programme aims to ensure that creative opportunities are not limited by people's backgrounds or circumstances.
"The Regional Creatives Fund Ireland supported many fantastic organisations across the country in 2025, and we're excited to bring it back again this year," she said.
"We understand that talent exists everywhere in Ireland, but opportunity doesn't."
She added that the fund supports organisations creating opportunities for people who might otherwise struggle to enter the creative industries.
Applications will be assessed by an independent judging panel featuring representatives from Amazon, the Royal Irish Academy of Music, Business to Arts, the Digital Hub and the Writers Guild of Ireland.
Judges will consider the impact of existing programmes, evidence of success and how additional funding could help participants progress towards employment or careers in the creative sector.
The closing date for applications is midnight on Monday, November 30th, 2026.
Wexford charities interested in applying are encouraged to prepare details of their existing programmes, the communities they support and how the proposed funding would make a measurable difference.
