Two Wexford-based community groups have been awarded funding as part of Circular.ie’s Circular Communications Grants scheme, which is supporting initiatives advancing sustainable practices in communities across Ireland. A total of €6,000 has been allocated locally, with The Nappy Market Limited receiving €5,000 and Enniscorthy Community Alliance awarded €1,000. These grants are part of a national funding initiative valued at €100,000, aimed at promoting circular living, reuse, and community engagement. Circular.ie, Ireland’s national platform for circular economy communications, selected 40 successful organisations from over 350 applications nationwide. The funded projects focus on key areas such as reuse, repair, upcycling, education, and behavioural change, all geared towards building a more sustainable future. Minister of State at the Department of Climate, Energy, and the Environment, Alan Dillon TD, congratulated the recipients, highlighting the importance of supporting grassroots initiatives. "This grant programme helps raise awareness of the innovative initiatives happening across Ireland, and we are proud to recognise their contributions to building circular communities," he said. Eibhlin Fitzpatrick, Community Liaison Manager at Circular.ie, also expressed her enthusiasm, noting the high calibre of applications received. She added that the grants are designed to meet the diverse needs of community projects across the country. "We are excited to work with the winners as they continue to expand their impact and strengthen local communities." The Circular Communications Grants scheme will continue annually, with applications reopening in August 2026. Community groups and organisations are encouraged to watch for updates on the next round of funding on Circular.ie. In addition, Circular.ie will be launching a series of 12 monthly online webinars starting in January, aimed at helping community groups improve their communications skills. These webinars, along with other resources, will be available on the Circular.ie website to support continued development in circular communications.
