Businesses in Wexford are being encouraged to review their security arrangements following reports of thefts involving fuel and gas cylinders.
An Garda Síochána is advising retailers and business owners to pay particular attention to items stored outdoors, which may be targeted by thieves overnight.
The advice includes securing gas cylinders in locked storage cages, keeping fuel containers and other valuables out of reach, and ensuring outdoor areas are well lit and covered by CCTV where possible.
Business owners are also being reminded to check gates, locks and other security measures before closing for the evening.
Anyone who notices suspicious activity around business premises is asked to contact Gardaí. In an emergency, people should call 999 or 112.
