Wexford general hospital apologises for increase in cancellations
Management at Wexford General Hospital is apologising to patients who have had elective procedures cancelled. Cancellations of such procedures are up 200 per cent since the start of the year. It's been put down to pressure on staff and services for emergency and other admissions. Manager Lily Burns says she understands the plight of those who have had cancellations at short notice and has apologised to those affected. She says they take cancellations very seriously and they work hard to avoid them because they are aware people are anxious coming into hospital.
