As part of National #Slowdown Day, a major national speed enforcement initiative, a motorist in Crossabeg, Co. Wexford was caught traveling at a dangerous 156 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on the N11 road. The initiative, which runs from 12:00am to 11:59pm today aims to promote safer driving and reduce speed-related collisions especially with the increase in road use for the Christmas holidays. So far, nearly 150 vehicles nationwide have been detected exceeding the speed limit, with several high-speed incidents recorded across the country. Gardaí, in partnership with GoSafe cameras, are urging drivers to slow down and drive responsibly, as speeding significantly increases the risk of accidents and serious injury.
