Wexford Syndicate Celebrates €191,677 Lotto Win

A Wexford syndicate is celebrating a Lotto windfall of more than €191,000 after years of sticking with the same set of numbers.

The group scooped €191,677 after matching five numbers and the Bonus in the Lotto draw on August 12th.

The winning ticket was purchased at XL Gorey on Main Street in Gorey.

The syndicate says its lucky combination was made up of numbers inspired by family birthdays and house numbers — a selection they had continued to play for years.

One member discovered the win while checking the ticket over a morning coffee and initially believed there must have been a mistake.

They checked the ticket several times before contacting the other members of the syndicate — who were also initially reluctant to believe their luck.

The winners say they plan to take some time before deciding what to do with their prize.

However, one long-held ambition could now become a reality, with the group considering a trip to Vietnam next year.
