Wexford Woman Takes on 1,000-Kilometre Cycle Challenge Ahead of 65th Birthday

A Wexford woman is taking on a huge cycling challenge this week, covering more than 1,000 kilometres over seven days to raise funds for two organisations supporting children, young people and their families.

Sue Karren will set off on Tuesday, September 22nd, from Our Lady of Fatima Special School in Wexford and cycle to The Down Syndrome Centre in Dublin.

The following morning, she will begin the journey back towards Wexford, before completing the challenge in Dublin on Monday, September 28th.

Sue will cycle approximately 150 kilometres each day.

The challenge will finish just one day before her 65th birthday, and she hopes it will demonstrate what can be achieved at any age with determination, a clear goal and support from others.

Sue has set a fundraising target of €10,000, with money raised going to both Our Lady of Fatima Special School and The Down Syndrome Centre.

As well as raising funds, the challenge aims to highlight the work carried out by both organisations and promote the importance of physical activity and healthy lifestyles, particularly among women.

Sue is encouraging people to get behind the challenge by donating, sharing her fundraiser and sending messages of support as she takes on the 1,000-plus kilometre journey.
