Household Hazardous Waste Amnesty At Holmestown Next Month

Wexford residents will be able to dispose of hazardous waste as part of a Wexford County Council lead amnesty event next month.

Household items such as detergents, bleaches and aerosols can be disposed of at the Holmestown Recycling Centre on Saturday 10th of October.

There are restrictions on certain items such as a 10 can per customer limit on paint cans and motor oil must be limited to less than 25 litres.

The council is stressing this is only for household waste and commercial and farm waste will not be accepted.

Disposal is free but only products in original containers with original labels will be considered for admission.

Items can be left at the centre between 9:30am and 12pm and again from 1pm to 3pm however the opening hours will be subject to capacity limits.

Materials may not be left at the venue outside of the opening hours.

This week is also the final running of the Household Furniture Amnesty at Holmestown with submissions accepted there between Tuesday and Friday from 9am to noon and again from 1pm to 3pm.
