Wexford’s Dermot O’Shea Joins Ireland’s Largest Unofficial Trade Mission to Toronto

Dermot O’Shea of Taoglas is among 150 of Ireland’s leading entrepreneurs travelling to Toronto for the 2026 EY Entrepreneur Of The Year (EOY) CEO Retreat. The annual retreat, running from 10–16 May, is part of the EY Entrepreneur Of The Year programme, designed to inspire, challenge, and support business leaders as they scale their companies and explore international markets.

The delegation includes this year’s 24 EOY finalists, alumni, and representatives from Enterprise Ireland, Invest Northern Ireland, and Julius Baer International. Participants will take part in leadership workshops, executive education, and networking sessions while engaging with Canada’s dynamic business ecosystem.

Highlights of the week include visits to Microsoft Canada’s Innovation Hub, the Toronto Stock Exchange, the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto, and the MaRS Innovation District, alongside meetings with global business leaders, academics, and investors.

Roger Wallace, Head of Assurance & EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Ireland, said:
"The CEO Retreat gives our entrepreneurs the chance to step back, broaden their perspective, and build lasting connections. Toronto’s thriving business environment offers a unique opportunity to explore new markets and deepen global collaboration."

The EY Entrepreneur Of The Year Ireland community now includes over 680 alumni, collectively generating revenues of more than €28 billion and employing over 275,000 people across Ireland.
