1,600 RESCUED AFTER HEAVY FLOODING IN THE SOUTH OF FRANCE

1,600 people have been taken to safety in southern France after torrential rain caused heavy flooding.

Many of them were staying on campsites – and divers are searching for a 70 year old German man who’d been looking after children at a summer camp.

More than 400 firefighters and police officers, many sent in from other areas, were involved in the operations.
