LONG DELAYS FOR RENEWAL OF DRIVING LICENCES IN CO.WEXFORD

County Wexford’s motorists are waiting up to eight weeks for driving licences.

Fianna Fáil TD John Browne has criticised the National Driving Licence Service for the delays.

On average drivers in County Wexford have to wait up to two months to have their driving licence processed.

Fianna Fáil TD for Enniscorthy John Browne says the long delays are causing a huge amount of frustration and anger.

He says the delays are causing considerable concern to those that depend on driving licences for their jobs.

Deputy Browne says the problem is reaching crisis proportions and the seriousness of the situation must be recognised by the government.

It comes after the administration of services was taken off the local authority in County Wexford and transferred to the National Driving Licence Service centres.

John Browne has called on the Transport Minister Leo Varadkar to come up with a solution to the problem.
