County Wexford Art Discovery To Be Auction

COUNTY WEXFORD ART DISCOVERY TO BE AUCTION

A piece of art discovered in a shed at the Parochial house in Piercestown in South Wexford could be worth over 100 thousand euro.

The discovery has been identified as a rare 15th century piece of Flemish art depicting scenes from the Crucifixion and was unearthed by parish priest Father John O’Reilly.

It is now set to be sold at a special art auction at Sheppards in Durrow in County Laois on July 9th.

Meanwhile a number of parish priests are on the move in the diocese of Ferns.

Bishop Denis Brennan has announced clerical changes affecting the parishes of Bree, Cushinstown Kilmuckridge and Blackwater.

The changes come into effect in August.
