ireland up one place in fifa rankings
Ireland are up one place to 29th in the FIFA World rankings released today. Our Euro 2016 group opponents Belgium remain top, while Italy are 14th and Sweden are 34th. Northern Ireland are one place above us in 28th position. It's 100 days before the Euro's kick off and Ireland manager Martin O'Neill has yet to agree a new deal. His current contract ensures he's in charge throughout the tournament however he has yet to agree a deal that will see him lead us into our World cup qualifiers. Speaking in France today O'Neill said he expects negotiations to be completed at the end of the month when we host Slovakia and Switzerland in friendly matches.
