It’s been a great week for Wexford-connected trainers and jockeys, with notable performances across several tracks.
Conor Houlihan and Barry Stone continued their successful partnership, securing a win with Kiltybo at Thurles. This marks their second victory in under a week, following Nan’s Choice’s win at Gowran the previous weekend. Houlihan’s first winner as a trainer, Nan’s Choice, later fetched £115,000 at the Cheltenham sales, sold to top English trainer Dan Skelton. Houlihan was thrilled with the results, stating, “Two winners in a week, I can’t believe it!”
Philip Rothwell from Tinahely continued his strong run in the William Hill Each Way Extra Challenge Series, extending his lead after Give Him A Chance’s win at Naas. Ridden by Tiernan Power Roche, the 14-1 shot took the handicap hurdle, securing a narrow victory by just over a length.
