Garden lovers, families and outdoor enthusiasts are being invited to Johnstown Castle this July for a major summer event in County Wexford.
The Johnstown Castle Garden Fair takes place on Sunday, July 12th, running from 10am to 4pm at the Johnstown Castle Estate, Museum and Gardens.
Following the success of last year’s inaugural event, organisers say this year’s fair will be a celebration of gardening, plants and outdoor living in one of Ireland’s most scenic heritage settings.
Nineteen specialist nurseries from across the country will take part, offering a wide range of plants including rare perennials, native Irish species and cottage garden favourites. Among those attending will be Wexford’s Kilmurray Nursery, alongside a number of well-known growers and garden centres.
A range of craft and garden lifestyle exhibitors will also feature, with stands showcasing botanical art, honey producers, outdoor living ideas and handmade garden products.
Throughout the day, visitors can attend talks and demonstrations in a dedicated speakers’ tent, featuring gardening experts, plant specialists and biodiversity speakers.
Food stalls, live music and the estate café will add to the atmosphere, while families will also be able to enjoy the playground, picnic areas and walking trails across the castle grounds.
Visitors can also take in guided tours of Johnstown Castle and explore the Irish Agricultural Museum, which hosts a range of exhibitions on Ireland’s rural and farming heritage.
Admission is free for Irish Heritage Trust members, with tickets available online and on the day for non-members. The event is supported by a number of local and national partners.
