A Boil Water Notice has been issued for the Wexford Town area due to concerns over water safety, with public health being the number one priority. The notice covers all areas connected to the Wexford Town Public Water Supply impacting both residents and businesses. Uisce Éireann has advised that while the water should be boiled before drinking or using it for food preparation, it is safe to make tea, coffee, or wash salads once the water has been boiled. The notice was put in place after a disinfection issue was detected at the treatment plant and while the root cause of the issue is still under investigation authorities are working hard to resolve the situation. The local authorities are currently consulting with the HSE and conducting water testing throughout the town to ensure the water meets the necessary health standards. Padraig Lyng spoke on todays Morning Mix & said, "We are hopeful that the Boil Water Notice will be lifted in the next day or two," Residents are advised to continue boiling water for drinking, preparing drinks and preparing foods that aren't cooked before consumption until further notice.
