Burst watermain leaves parts of Enniscorthy without water

Residents and businesses in parts of Enniscorthy are experiencing water supply disruptions today following a burst watermain.

Uisce Éireann says repair crews are on site working to restore supplies to customers in the Greenville Lane, Moyne and Old Dublin Road areas as quickly as possible.

The utility expects normal water supply to be restored later this afternoon, although it says it can take an additional two to three hours for water pressure to return fully across the network once repairs are completed. Customers at the end of the network or on higher ground may experience longer delays while the system recharges.

Uisce Éireann's Padraig Lyng acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the unplanned outage.

"We understand the inconvenience that an unplanned outage can cause for customers and local businesses. Our crews are on site and working as quickly and safely as possible to repair the burst and restore water supplies to affected customers."

He also thanked customers for their patience while repair works continue.

Customers registered as vulnerable with Uisce Éireann receive direct notifications for planned and unplanned outages lasting more than four hours.
