Call for education minister to be more flexible over book rental scheme
The INTO in County Wexford is calling on the Education Minister to be more flexible when it comes funding for the book rental scheme. Seán Ó Dualing made the call following Ruairi Quinn's recent announcement of 15 million euro to help schools set up the scheme. He says only 20 per cent of schools will benefit and has called on Wexford's TD's to raise the issue in the Dáil. Seán Ó Dualing says the majority of schools will not be able to avail of the funding because they had told the Department of Education in 2012 that they had some sort of book rental scheme in operation. Any school who already has a scheme in place will not receive funding.
