People are being asked to donate blood urgently, as supplies are critically low.
Last year saw the highest number of blood donations units requested by hospitals in over a decade, with the "exceptionally high" demand expected to continue in 2025. The Irish Blood Transfusion Service says Storm Éowyn has affected the number of donations, with a surge in respiratory illnesses also causing supplies to fall.
