Clongeen student named Regional Winner at Global Undergraduate Awards

A student from Clongeen in County Wexford has been recognised for producing some of the strongest undergraduate academic work in his region at the 2026 Global Undergraduate Awards.

Keith Kelly, a student at South East Technological University, has been named a Regional Winner in the Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Healthcare category.

His winning work is a literature review examining the characteristics of adults who search for health information online.

The research looks at how people navigate, interpret and make sense of health information in the digital age.

The Global Undergraduate Awards recognise outstanding undergraduate coursework across a wide range of disciplines, with entries assessed by an international panel of academics and judged on the merit of the work.

The programme attracts submissions from universities and colleges around the world.

Jim Barry, Chairman of the Global Undergraduate Awards, said the winners are among the brightest undergraduate students globally and have the potential to make an impact on some of the major challenges facing society.

He said the awards aim to identify exceptional academic talent early and give students a global platform at the beginning of their careers.

Keith and the other winners will be celebrated at the Global Undergraduate Awards Summit and Thomas Clarkson Gold Medal presentation in Dublin on November 10th.

The event will bring together global winners, academics, judges and supporters of the programme.
