Seven schools across County Wexford are to receive funding under the Department of Education's Climate Action Summer Works Scheme.
The funding will support a range of improvements, including roof repairs, mechanical and electrical works, toilet facilities and window upgrades.
Those approved include Our Lady of Fatima Special School, Gorey Hill School, Gorey Community School and Enniscorthy Community College.
Wexford schools St Mary's Secondary School and Christian Brothers Secondary School are also among the recipients, along with two primary schools, S N Cul Greine and S N Moin Na Gcaor.
Wexford Minister James Browne has welcomed the announcement, saying the condition of school buildings must remain a priority.
He says the investment will allow schools to plan essential summer works and ensure buildings are fit for purpose.
The scheme also aims to improve energy efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and lower running costs.
The next round of funding approvals is expected to be announced in late 2027.
