Cork county board denies government funding for pairc ui chaoimh withheld
Cork County Board has denied that Government funding for the redevelopment of Pairc Ui Chaoimh has been withheld. A report in the Irish Independent this morning said 30 million euro had been withheld by the Department of Public Expenditure after officials said plans for the stadium's redevelopment are 'overly optimistic'. In a statement the county board says no money has been withheld and there's been no request for funds to be drawn down. It also says a cost-benefit analysis for the new 45,000 capacity stadium is the subject of on-going dialogue with the Department of Public Expenditure.
