Council Seek Builders And Developers For Starter Homes Programme

Wexford County Council is calling on builders and developers to put themselves forward for the Starter Homes Programme.

The council is inviting expressions of interest for the delivery of new homes under the scheme to help make affordable home ownership a reality for more people across the county.

Home Builders and housing developers are being asked to consider offering properties with planning permission to the council under an advance purchase turnkey arrangement.

The call is targeted at advance purchase opportunities for a minimum of 10 dwellings in any one scheme.

The council says applicants should not that Part V of the Planning and Development Act 2000 as amended applies.

Successful proposals will then be put forward to apply for the Affordable Housing Fund under the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage for a subsidy to assist in meeting the cost of delivery.

Submissions can be sent by email to starterhomes@wexfordcoco.ie or in a sealed envelope marked and addressed to County Hall.

The proposal portal opens on the 2nd of September and close on the 14th of October.

For full details and application information, visit the Wexford County Council website.
