Three projects in rural Wexford have been awarded €1.1 million in funding under the Town and Village Renewal Scheme to support economic growth, community development, and tourism. Ballyhogue will receive €300,000 to convert a vacant shop/post-office into a multi-purpose community hub, complete with training facilities, social enterprises and a community garden. Castlebridge is set to receive €300,000 for the restoration of the historic Castlebridge House gardens, transforming them into an outdoor events space and pocket park. & New Ross will benefit from €500,000 for the restoration and repurposing of the derelict New Ross Courthouse into a state-of-the-art community and exhibition facility. Chairperson of the Castlebridge Town Center First Team Cllr Robbie Staples expressed his delight at the funding Speaking To South East Radio News he said the hard work of the team and local officials made it possible Independent Councillor for New Ross Michael Sheehan welcomed the funding saying it's a great way to end the year These investments are expected to rejuvenate town centres, combat vacancy and boost footfall across these areas.
