€100,000 Funding Boost Available for Wexford Community Groups

Community groups across County Wexford are being encouraged to apply for grants of up to €10,000 under a new nationwide funding initiative aimed at promoting sustainability and reducing waste.

Circular.ie has launched its 2026 Communication Grants programme, with €100,000 available to help community-led organisations raise awareness of their work and encourage more people to embrace sustainable living.

The funding is aimed at groups already involved in activities such as upcycling, repair cafés, refill schemes, tool-sharing and other projects that promote reuse and reduce waste.

Non-profit organisations, community groups and recognised social initiatives in Wexford are among those eligible to apply.

Three levels of funding are available:

  • €1,000 to support local marketing and communications activities.

  • €5,000 to help organisations develop their digital and online presence.

  • €10,000 for more established initiatives looking to expand their reach and attract greater participation.

The grants are specifically intended to help organisations promote their existing activities, rather than fund the projects themselves.

Minister of State with responsibility for the Circular Economy, Alan Dillon, welcomed the initiative, saying community groups are playing an important role in helping people reduce waste.

"Across Ireland, community groups and organisations are finding different ways to keep products in use for longer, prevent waste and make circular living part of everyday life."

Circular.ie Community Manager Eibhlin Fitzpatrick said some of the most innovative sustainability initiatives are taking place at grassroots level.

"These grants are about helping the people behind that work tell their stories and get more engagement."

An online information webinar will take place on October 22, offering prospective applicants guidance on eligibility, the application process and how the funding can be used.

Applications close on November 9, 2026, with successful recipients announced on December 7.

Wexford organisations interested in applying can find further information at Circular.ie.
