Wexford Project Receives Over €142,000 from Proceeds of Crime Fund Minister James Browne has welcomed funding of €142,408 for the Enniscorthy Community Alliance under the Community Safety Fund , which redistributes the proceeds of crime back into local communities. The funding forms part of a €4.4 million national allocation announced by Minister for Home Affairs and Migration, Jim O’Callaghan , supporting 42 community safety projects across Ireland. Minister Browne said the initiative shows how money seized by the Criminal Assets Bureau and An Garda Síochána can be turned into a positive force for local good: “This fund is helping to build stronger and safer communities. It’s a powerful reminder that the work of our Gardaí doesn’t just stop at tackling crime – it also helps invest in local safety and wellbeing.” The Enniscorthy Community Alliance will use the funding for its project, ‘Empowering Voices for Safer Communities’ , which aims to strengthen community engagement and promote safety in the local area. The National Office for Community Safety oversees the fund and supports the rollout of Local Community Safety Partnerships nationwide.
