Enniscorthy Quay and Templeshannon is on flood alert this morning after heavy rain yesterday has increased the possibility of flooding of the River Slaney.
Edermine Bridge South of Enniscorthy is closed as a result of flooding. High Tides later are of concern to Council staff. Up to two feet of water is flowing over the riverbank causing fears of flooding to Templeshannon, Abbey Quay and Abbey Square. Business people in the town are worried that their shops will be affected by the flooding and are looking for assurances that their businesses won't be too badly affected. John Fortune from Burger Mac and Anne Swaine from the Bus Stop Shop along the river in the town, spoke on the Morning Mix and called for more to be done to protect businesses in Enniscorthy.
