Former liberal democrat leader charles kennedy dies
Charles Kennedy, the former leader of the UK Liberal Democrats, has died aged 55. His family have spoken of their 'enormous sense of shock' after he passed away at home in Fort William, Scotland yesterday. Speaking after his defeat in the UK general election in May, Mr Kennedy said he remained committed to politics. "I've always believed in politics, particularly Highland politics" he said. "You have to put the people first, even it means the party second" he added.
