Former ss officer convicted as accessory to murder of 300,000 people
A former SS guard at Auschwitz has been convicted over his role in the mass murder of 300,000 people while working as a clerk at the Nazi death camp. Oskar Groening (94) was found guilty of being an accessory to murder. He has been sentenced to four years in prison. Reporter Jonathan Samuels is following the story. "He's always said that he felt morally responsible, but it was up to a court to decide whether he was legally responsible" he said. "He says he saw hundreds of thousands of people being killed - but he never killed anyone, (that) he was more of an accomplice" he added.
