Mick Wallace is sharply critical of Micheál Martin’s leadership style and decision-making process within Fianna Fáil. Speaking on Morning Mix he expressed frustration at how Michéal Martin's selection of candidates and leadership decisions lack transparency and input from the grassroots level of the party. Wallace criticized Martin for his top-down, centralized approach to decision-making, suggesting that Martin excludes party members and grassroots voices in the decision-making process. “It’s borders on autocratic. It’s top-down.” Wallace believes Martin’s handling of the candidate selection and other issues has left him in a vulnerable political position. "He’s actually in a pretty weak position, you know." Wallace criticizes Martin for prioritizing military issues at a time when Ireland is struggling with domestic problems like housing, health and public transport. "We still have a housing crisis... we still have poor public transport... and he wants to get involved with the military boys in Europe. It’s insane stuff, really." "I think he’s the weakest Fianna Fáil leader I’ve seen in my lifetime." -
