Four Wexford Drama Groups Shine at All-Ireland Drama Finals

Wexford’s thriving theatre scene was on full display at this year’s All-Ireland Drama Finals, with four local groups making it to the final stage against nine top groups from across Ireland.

Bridge Drama Group from Castlebridge achieved 2nd place overall, with standout wins including Best Supporting Actress for Sinead Rafter and Best Lighting for Mark Redmond. They also received nominations for Jack O’Brien as Best Supporting Actor, Emma Walsh as Best Actress and Susan Somers for Best Stage Setting.

Ballycogley Players received an impressive five nominations, including Best Actor for Sean Carthy, Best Supporting Actress for Ciara Spellman, Best Stage Management for Celine Treacy, Best Setting for Simon DuPuy and Nick Hayes and Best Supporting Actor for Edward Hayden.

Bunclody/Kilmyshall also brought pride to the county, with Josephine Bynre nominated for Best Supporting Actress.

Wexford Drama Group rounded out the county’s strong showing with Pat Sinnott receiving Best Supporting Actor & a nomination for Michael McKenny for Best Actor.

It was a wonderful celebration of the county’s theatre talent, with Wexford groups taking multiple wins and nominations, highlighting the dedication, creativity and skill flourishing across the southeast.
