Garda whistleblower wants to appear before public accounts commitee
The Public Accounts Committee will meet today to discuss the Justice Minister's decision to refer the penalty points controversy to the Garda Ombudsman. They'll also discuss a request from one of the whistleblowers - a serving Garda - who wants to appear before the Committee, as planned, on Thursday. Yesterday, Minister Alan Shatter said some members of the committee have prejudged the penalty points issue - and are in danger of bringing the Committee into disrepute. Committee Chairman, John McGuinness has rejected the claim.
