Clonard Girl Guides are preparing to celebrate a major milestone, marking 50 years in the Clonard community with a special programme of events planned over the coming year.
The celebrations will begin in September and will include trips, parties, anniversary events and activities for current members, culminating in a summer camp in Holland.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, the group is appealing to former members, leaders and families to share old photographs, stories, memories and memorabilia from the past five decades. The contributions will help preserve the history of Clonard Girl Guides and showcase the impact the organisation has had on generations of young people.
Michelle Goff, a leader with Clonard Girl Guides, says the group is keen to reconnect with past members and ensure their memories form part of the 50th anniversary celebrations.
Anyone with photos, memories or information from their time with Clonard Girl Guides is encouraged to get in touch.
