A Greek-American entrepreneur, Sam Stathis, has initiated High Court proceedings against Irish showjumper Michelle Kenny and River Lodge Eventing Limited over the ownership of a valuable horse, Mika. Stathis, who claims to have purchased the horse for €20,000 four years ago, is suing to recover Mika, which is currently in the care of Kenny. The dispute stems from a fractured business relationship between Kenny and her former partner, Rafael Sanctuary, a director at River Lodge Equestrian Centre in Bridgetown, Co. Wexford. The case follows a bitter conflict over the fate of several horses, including Mika, with differing claims about ownership and involvement from the parties involved.
