The Minister for Housing, James Browne TD, has announced over €287,000 in funding as part of the 2026 Historic Towns Initiative for Enniscorthy
The money will go towards vital conservation works at Enniscorthy Castle, upgrades to the Atheneum, and a heritage-led regeneration of surrounding streets.
This funding is part of a €2 million national scheme aimed at preserving historic towns and addressing issues like vacancy and dereliction.
In a statement Minister Browne said that the initiative supports the revitalisation of Enniscorthy’s town centre, making it a more vibrant and accessible place to live and work.
