Housing crisis
Fianna Fáil says 'extraordinary measures' are needed to tackle the housing crisis. It comes as leaked documents from the Government's action plan on housing reveals 45-thousand social houses are to be built over the next 5 years. A draft copy of the document - seen by the Irish Times - suggests a new state fund will be established to purchase distressed properties. The Housing Minister Simon Coveney will publish the housing plan in full next Tuesday, subject to Cabinet approval.
