HSE temporarily closes Civil Registration Service offices at Ely Hospital

The HSE has temporarily closed its Civil Registration Service offices at Ely Hospital in Ferrybank, Wexford, following water-related damage to the ground floor of the building.

The closure affects the registration of births, deaths and marriages in County Wexford. However, the HSE has confirmed that day procedures and outpatient appointments taking place at Ely Hospital are continuing as normal.

Alternative Civil Registration Services are now available at HSE offices in Enniscorthy, New Ross and Waterford while repair works are carried out.

The HSE says confirmed marriage ceremonies due to take place in Wexford will go ahead as planned, and those involved will be contacted directly if necessary.

People can continue to book birth and death registration appointments online, purchase certificates by phone, and reschedule or cancel appointments through the HSE's online system.

The HSE has apologised for the inconvenience and says it is working to restore the Civil Registration Service offices at Ely Hospital as quickly as possible.
