Interim garda commisioner says force needs to be more accepting of internal dissent
Noirin O'Sullivan - in her first public address - says whistleblowing should not be viewed as disloyalty, but rather a catalyst for change. She also says that garda management must listen to the perspective of those working on the frontline. And Commissioner O'Sullivan is at odds with the former Commissioner Martin Callinan's use of the word disgusting on the actions of the garda whistleblowers. "I think it was unfortunate use of the word 'disgusting' - I think that the former Commissioner had a personal opinion in relation to the matter, and I think he's entitled to his opinion" she said.
