Joan burton says there's been no decision reached on aer lingus
The Tanaiste and Labour leader says she does not expect a decision on the future of the government's stake in Aer Lingus 'for some time'. Joan Burton says work is ongoing on a report from advisors, despite weekend claims that an interdepartmental group had given their report to the Department of Transport. IAG has offered 1.36 billion to buy the government's Aer Lingus shareholding. However Joan Burton says no sale has been agreed. "There's a whole series of discussions which are on-going, but there has been no decision reached and I don't expect that there will be for some time" she said. "I'm not aware that their report is complete; there are a number of extremely serious factors in relation to our livelihood as a country in terms of connections" she added.
