Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Martin Heydon TD, has announced a record €6.4 million in funding for 94 animal welfare charities nationwide. The €6,434,803 allocation is the largest ever under the Animal Welfare Grants Programme and will help charities continue their essential work rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming animals. Minister Heydon praised the dedication of staff and volunteers, saying, “The welfare of animals remains a top priority for me and my Department. I am proud to provide this significant funding to support these organizations and the invaluable work they do.” Wexford’s Share of the €6.4 Million Wexford’s animal welfare charities have been awarded substantial funding, including: - North Wexford SPCA – €53,000 - Wexford SPCA – €110,000 - Seal Rescue Ireland CLG – €36,000 - Chippers Sanctuary – €6,175 - Ten Lives Cat Rescue CLG – €8,000 This funding will help local groups expand their operations, rescue more animals and promote responsible pet ownership.
