Gardaí have arrested a man following an incident in which several cars were damaged with an axe at a car park in Co Wexford.
Officers responded to reports of criminal damage at Forth Mountain car park at approximately 4.15pm on Saturday, 7 February 2026. Four parked vehicles were damaged during the incident.
Following a search operation, Gardaí located a man in his 50s at a residential property in Taghmon. The Armed Support Unit deployed a less-than-lethal force option during the arrest.
The man is currently being detained at a Garda station in the Eastern Region under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
