Man arrested in connection with fatal kilkenny stabbing
Gardai in Kilkenny are questioning a man over the death of a 28 year old woman. At around 8.30 last night, a man entered the Holland and Barrett store in Market Cross shopping centre and stabbed the woman working there a number of times. It's understood that she knew her attacker. The 28 year old was rushed to St. Luke's hospital but she died a short time later. Mairead Moran who was originally from Kilmoganny, had been working at Market Cross for a number of years. It's understood gardai located a taxi shortly after the incident which it's thought took the suspect to Loughboy, about three kilometres from Market Cross. Gardai arrested a 27 year old man - he's still being questioned at Kilkenny garda station. Ms Moran, was from a well known family, who run a local shop in the village of Kilmoganny.
