An extensive search operation is underway on Lough Ree in the Midlands - after a boating accident claimed the life of a man. The 27-year-old from the Northern Ireland - who died at Galway University Hospital - was rescued from the water yesterday afternoon. He was among three men in a small fishing boat that capsized in strong winds on the lake close to the Hodson Bay pier near Athlone. A man in his 60s is in a critical condition in hospital - while a man aged in his 30s remains missing.
