Broadcaster Marty Morrissey has been announced as National Awareness Partner with Bluebird Care, as the organisation launches a drive to recruit more carers across the South East.
The partnership aims to highlight the role of carers in communities and encourage people to consider a career in care.
Bluebird Care services in Waterford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Tipperary and East Cork are currently recruiting healthcare assistants, carers and nurses to support older people, children and adults living at home.
The company says the campaign is focused on promoting care as a rewarding local career, with full training and ongoing support provided to new recruits.
As part of the role, Marty Morrissey will help raise awareness of the importance of care work and will also feature in a new podcast series, Care Matters with Bluebird Care.
He said care is something that affects every family in Ireland and described the role of carers as offering dignity, reassurance and companionship to those who need it most.
Managing Director Eric Delaney said the South East teams are looking for people who want a meaningful career close to home and added that full training and support are available.
Bluebird Care says demand for home care continues to grow, with services supporting people of all ages to live independently in their own homes.
