Mary lou responds to plans by government to censure her in the dail
The deputy leader of Sinn Féin's described plans by the government to censure her in the Dáil as a diversionary tactic It follows reports the Government Chief Whip and Wexford TD Paul Kehoe will write to the Ceann Comhairle following a finding that she abused Dáil privilege when she named a number of former politicians accusing them of having offshore accounts to evade tax. All of those named by Deputy McDonald have denied her claims which she made after receiving a dossier from a whistleblower. Deputy McDonald says she stands by her actions, but would apologise to the six former politicians if a full investigation clears them. "If it were to transpire with the full facts established and adjudicated upon, I would of course accept those full facts and that adjudication" she said. "And I would have no difficulty in those circumstances of offering an apology to those persons" she added.
