Minister for Housing and Wexford TD, James Browne, has raised the urgent concerns regarding the ongoing capacity issues at Wexford General Hospital with the Minister for Health, Jennifer Carroll MacNeill. Both Ministers held multiple discussions yesterday about the hospital's challenges, including the severe pressure on resources highlighted by ambulance officer Ger Carthy on yesterdays Morning Mix. Officer Carthy revealed that 14 ambulances were waiting outside the hospital with patients waiting for up to seven hours & has called for the immediate installation of 20 temporary beds that had been previously requested by hospital management but refused. In a statement from Minister James Browne to South East Radio he said he has since been assured that Minister Carroll MacNeill has engaged with local health authorities, including HSE Dublin and South East REO, to address the situation and improve conditions. Browne has pledged to continue working closely with Minister Carroll MacNeill and local healthcare leaders to ensure timely solutions are found as Wexford's population grows and demand on services increases.
