Concerns are being raised about potential strike action at Bus Éireann.
The National Bus and Rail Workers Union is to ballot its members for industrial action after management at the company announced plans to restructure the Expressway service. Bus Éireann says the plan aims to address the urgent financial challenges facing the business. Expressway operates over 30 routes, including in County Wexford. Meanwhile Dublin Bus says strike action by drivers is having a catastrophic impact on the company. The 5th day of industrial action begins at midnight tonight - but management has again decided to stop all services from 9pm. Around four hundred thousand commuters are affected by the action - which Dublin Bus says has cost it over four million euro to date. Drivers are continuing to demand a 15% pay rise - almost twice what the Labour Court has recommended.
